“The White Rabbit” can be found in the basement of the Heritage Court building near Gilbert Road and Cullumber Avenue. If you blink once, you might miss their entrance. Well in our case twice, but who’s counting. Getting into TWRB requires a password. Once you signup to their newsletter you will receive a password via email.
The White Rabbit Bar resemble the old illegal secret drinking spot during prohibition. TWRB Speakeasy style cocktail bar reminded us of more simple times long ago. After entering the basement we noticed various antique artifacts which consist of various old school products that we still use til this day.
The entrance to the TWRB through us for a loop. We heard music, but at the same time we seem to just stare at the artifacts on the shelf. Give it a second. Duh! Down the hall, the shelf with the artifacts is actually a secret door. How cool was that!
What a wonderful laid back cool spot. The decor gave a 1920’s Victorian environment. The walls featured black and white photos donated by members of the public. TWRB has a lot of history and stories beyond the business.
Without further ado. Let’s dive into the cocktails and food. At TWRB food is secondary. All the rave is about TWRB’s unique specialty cocktails, especially if you are tired of the same ole everyday drinks. They also have a Tropical Punch that changes daily and is not found on the menu.
Their bite size menu consist of Caprese Skewers, Pretzel Bites, Meat & Cheese Board, Baked Peach Brie, Rabbit Food, Colossal Chocolate Cake etc.
Our appetizer: the Caprese Skewers which consist of Tomatoes, (Basil-love it!) Balsamic Vinegar and a Mozzarella Ball with Olive Oil sprinkled with Salt & Pepper. Did I mention how much I love Basil? It was definitely the perfect pairing for this dish.
Tami’s choice of cocktail is the Chasing Rabbits which consist of Parairie organic vodka, giffard pamplemousse, rosemary syrup, grapefruit, lime & soda.
My Choice of cocktail is the Ginger Snap which consist of Ketel One Botanical grapefruit and rose, stirrings ginger, Da Luca Prosecco, Grapefruit, Simple Syrup.
What can I say about the Baked Peach Brie. It was an exquisite experience, very tasty and delicious. One would describe it as a Peach Bourbon infused Brie with fresh peaches and mint.
The World famous specialty meats and cheese platter did not disappoint. It consist of various cheeses, meats, cured olives, Pita bread and Jam. (Saving room for dessert).
The Three layered chocolate moose was a delightful treat. Not too heavy. This is the perfect portion/size for a dessert.
Tyler (Beverage manager) accompanied Arizonagenda with various cocktails. Tyler is sort of a beverage connoisseur. He briefed us on the origin of several cocktails. Tyler is very knowledgeable of TWRB drinks and alcohol.
Our apologies. Can we just title this cocktail as a mystery drink. Tyler mentioned that it has Cilantro. Tami loves Cilantro. Good cocktail! Tyler also complimented us with a couple of Tequila shots – Kaseazur Tequila and Vida Del Maguey Mezcal.
The White Rabbit Bar also has live music. (Yeah!) You can catch Jackie Lopez every Tuesday and Thursday singing Big Band, swing, Jazz and other genres of music. Can you believe never sang live outside of her bedroom. She noticed TWRB did not have any music. So she auditioned and got the part. A Star is Born!
Arizonagenda would like to give a special thanks to the manager Fernando. From our first conversation on instagram, I felt Fernando’s positive energy. We also observed his upbeat and warm personality throughout the evening. He seems to really enjoy serving and conversating with his customers.
Arizonagenda experienced an amazing evening at The White Rabbit Bar and we will definitely comeback again soon!
