After a busy weekend of attending another event, Arizonagenda decided to stop by West Alley BBQ & Smokehouse in Chandler. It was around 9:00 on a Sunday night. We asked were they closed for the night. A young man greeted us and said we closed at 9:00. Just as we were turning around to head out, the young man handed us a couple of menus and welcomed us in to order something to eat.
Not only did he let us come in and order our food. Christian and the whole staff was gracious, we were allowed to eat in as well. Talk about after hours VIP treatment. We didn’t want to get in the way of the staff while they close for the night so we sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks until our food was ready.
We ordered the full slab of ribs, a side of white beans and crinkle cut fries. I have to admit, this one the first time I actually used a runny vinegar based BBQ sauce, so we decided to soak our ribs with a lot of BBQ sauce. The ribs were tasty and tender. The white beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned. As for as fries, it was all a perfect combination.
I just can’t say enough about the staff. Although the store closed at 9:00 pm, they were very accomodating and never once tried to rush us out even though they had good reason to. Southern Hospitality, to experience it, is to love and embrace it.
