Have you ever driven by a particular restaurant countless amount of times and say to yourself, that may be a nice place to dine in? After leaving a fundraiser in Scottsdale, we finally decided to stop by Pesto’s Pizza and Wine Bar.
Pesto’s was exactly what I envisioned. A nice laid back calm ambience with a touch of jazz music playing in the background. A great environment, with dim lighting and a feel of elegance in the air. For wine connoisseurs, Pesto’s also has a cabinet of various wine choices.
Since it was late in the evening (watching calories, I think), we decided to share the Sausage and Pepper 12” Sub with a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio. Our decision to choose the Sausage and Pepper 12” Sub was predicated on our affinity for peppers. Green, red, yellow, orange etc. We love our peppers!
With that said, of course the Sausage and Pepper sub got our stamp of approval. After finishing our dinner, all of a sudden this person shows up behind the bar with a disposable camera. He asked if he could take a picture of us. We said yes. It was Frank, the owner of Pesto’s. Frank was really down to earth. He gave us a brief history of Pesto’s. Frank discussed the struggles, hard times and the affects of the recession.
For more than 18 years, Frank and Debbie Taurisano have been proud to own Pesto’s Pizza and Wine Bar. With such history in Chandler, their favorite part of owning Pesto’s is being a part of such a great community and watching it grow.
Persistence is always a part our conversations here at ArizonAgenda. We really appreciated hearing Frank’s story, and it is an inspiration and testament to us as an up and coming local media outlet.
