Hmmm. Where to eat breakfast on a Sunday Morning? Our adventures led us to the Downtown Chandler Cafe. A small storefront that sits in the heart of the downtown Chandler square. My first assessment of the Downtown Chandler Cafe was noticing their huge menus. They were posted very high on the wall towering over the counter. Let’s just say, there is no mystery on locating the ordering menu.
Owners and Chefs, Hector and his wife Lupe Velazquez have own Downtown Chandler Cafe since 2010 and has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business. Downtown Chandler Cafe is known for their creative dishes and an exquisite selection of delicious desserts. Their cookies along with all of our pastries are homemade and fresh-baked every morning.
We decided to start with the Egg Benedict Dish which consisted of a buttered croissant with two poached eggs, ham, hollandaise sauce and home fries. To be honest, this was my first time eating Egg Benedict and I was impressed.
Egg Benedict $9.99
French Toast Platter $8.99 served with two eggs any style and your choice of bacon sausage or ham.
We also ordered the French Toast Platter. Warning, “the French toast may seem smaller in the image above”. I could not believe the size of their French toasts. I think I only finished two of them. They were very fluffy and tasty and of course the sausage and scrambled eggs complimented the French toasts as well.
To our delight,we experienced a nice, quiet, cozy cafe on an early Sunday morning. It was a very laid back enjoyable environment. We will be visiting again. I will definitely go light on the French toast next time.
