After spending hours at the TurfParadise Kentucky Derby Party, a friend and I decided to grab a bite at Longhorn Steakhouse before ending our evening. As usual I was kind of indecisive, so we compromised and decide to order a Sangria, Seasoned Steakhouse wings and the Porterhouse steak (which was huge!)
We started off with the Longhorn Steakhouse complentary honey wheat bread served with whipped margarine butter. The honey wheat bread was very tasty, I would prefer if it was slightly warmer, I can just see that butter melting into the honey wheat bread. Oh well maybe next time.
The Longhorn Caesar Salad was pretty good. The Romaine lettuce, croutons and Parmesan cheese were very fresh, complented by your usual Caesar salad dressing. What can I say about the White Peach Sangria? What a delicious drink.
$7.49 White Peach Sangria
A blend of chilled wine, fresh fruit and fruit juices.
$ 9. 79 Seasoned Steakhouse wings
I think I have an insane love for wings. I tend to get excited when tasting different types of flavored wings. The Seasoned Steakhouse wings exceeded my expectations. They were crispy to my perfection, with a spicy kick. Although I’m on team ranch dressing, the buffallo sauce was sweet, tangy and pretty good.
$ 27. 99 LongHorn® Porterhouse*
I must admit, this was a nice size steak. As soon as I saw it, I knew I was having left overs the next day. What a nice cut steak (medium rare) juicy and tender. As soon as you take a bite into this wonderful steak, the seasonings and flavors seems to just jump out. Tastiness everywhere. The buttered sauce on top of this steak blended very well with the ingredients. The Asparagus was really moist, not too crunchy, with a slight marinated butter topping.
Besides the steak, this was not a very big meal, but it really hit the spot. A great ending to a perfect day.
